Who this covers
This Policy applies to visitors to this website and to people who contact us through it. It does not govern the work we do for clients under a signed engagement; how we handle client information on an engagement is set by that engagement's agreement, which controls if it conflicts with this Policy.
Hireware, a hiring-operations product built by Bessemer Legacy, has its own Privacy Policy at hireware.co/privacy. Nothing on this website places you into a hiring pipeline or a Hireware account.
Information we collect
Information you give us
The only place this site asks you for information is the "Book a 15-minute fit call" form (and its shorter versions on other pages). Depending on the page, that form asks for:
- Your name, work email address, and company name.
- Details about your business challenge, such as your industry, what is breaking down, your preferred timeline, and your role in the decision.
If you email or call us instead, we keep the correspondence and whatever you choose to share in it.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics data. Pages viewed, approximate location (city or region level), device and browser type, how you arrived at the site, and interactions such as form submissions. This is collected by Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, and is subject to the choices described under Cookies and analytics below.
- Server and security logs. IP address, timestamps, and request data kept by our web host and by the services that process form submissions, used to keep the site running and to prevent abuse.
- Bot-protection signals. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated scripts. Turnstile evaluates limited browser and network signals for that purpose; we do not receive a profile of you from it.
We do not collect payment information on this site. We take no payments online.
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Respond to your fit-call request, schedule the call, and follow up on it.
- Assess whether there is a fit between your challenge and our services, and prepare for the conversation.
- Record your inquiry in our internal client-relationship system so we do not lose track of it.
- Understand, in aggregate, how the site is used and which pages are useful.
- Keep the site secure, detect spam and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
If you submit the form, we may send you follow-up email about your request and about working with Bessemer Legacy. Every such email will include a way to tell us to stop, and we will honor that. We do not add website visitors to bulk marketing lists without asking.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses two categories of cookies and similar technologies:
- Strictly necessary. Used to remember the cookie preference you set and to operate the site's bot protection. These cannot be turned off.
- Analytics. Google Analytics (GA4), loaded through Google Tag Manager, which tells us in aggregate how visitors use the site.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this site, and we do not sell personal information.
Your analytics choices depend on where you are.
In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland: analytics cookies are off by default and load only after you accept them in the cookie banner.
Everywhere else, including the United States: analytics cookies are on by default. You can turn them off at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page. We also honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal as an opt-out, automatically, without you needing to do anything else.
Turning analytics off stops Google Analytics from loading on future page views and expires the analytics cookies it already set. Your choice is stored in your browser only; it is not sent to us.
How we share information
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run this site and handle your inquiry, each under terms that limit their use of the data to providing their service to us:
| Provider | What it does for us |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Receives form submissions through a secure serverless function and stores the resulting lead record in our internal client-relationship database. |
| Resend | Sends the transactional emails triggered by a form submission, such as our internal notification and any confirmation or follow-up to you. |
| Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, for the aggregate site analytics described above, subject to your cookie choices. | |
| Cloudflare | Turnstile bot protection on our forms. |
| Web hosting | The hosting provider that serves this site and keeps standard server logs. |
Beyond that, we may disclose information where the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this Policy would continue to apply to the transferred information. If your inquiry leads to an engagement, the specialist partners we bring onto that engagement may see your information under confidentiality obligations to us.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
How long we keep information
- Fit-call requests and correspondence: kept in our client-relationship system for as long as there is a reasonable prospect of working together, and afterward as part of our business records. You can ask us to delete your record at any time; see Your rights and choices.
- Analytics data: held in Google Analytics under its standard retention settings, in aggregate form.
- Server and security logs: kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, then discarded.
Security
Form submissions travel over encrypted connections and are processed through a server-side function that validates them, checks the bot-protection token, and rate-limits abuse before anything is stored. Stored records live in an access-controlled database with encryption at rest provided by our infrastructure providers, and only Bessemer Legacy leadership and the people who need to respond to your request can see them. No system is perfectly secure, but we protect personal information in a way that is appropriate for what it is.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of certain processing, and to appeal a decision we make about a request. Wherever you are, we will honor a reasonable request to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you.
- Correct or delete it.
- Stop sending you follow-up email.
- Turn off analytics cookies (use Cookie preferences in the footer, or send a Global Privacy Control signal).
California residents: the categories of information described above are the categories we collect, for the purposes described. We do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. You have the rights to know, delete, correct, and to be free from discrimination for exercising them, and you may use an authorized agent. Residents of other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws have comparable rights, which we honor on the same basis.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@bessemerlegacy.com. We may need to verify that a request comes from you before acting on it, and we will respond within the time the applicable law allows.
Children
This site is for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them, and we will delete it if we learn we have.
International visitors
Bessemer Legacy operates in the United States and this site is hosted there. If you visit from outside the U.S., the information you provide will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is material, we will make that clear on this page.
